Monitoring and auto-pause
How Zylar monitors deliverability with Gmail and Outlook placement tests and a daily 0–100 inbox health score, and what auto-pause does when placement drops.
Monitoring is the fourth deliverability layer in Zylar. Zylar runs placement tests per domain for Gmail and Outlook and gives every inbox a health score from 0 to 100, updated daily. When something slips, Zylar acts on its own: it rests unhealthy inboxes and auto-pauses domains whose placement drops below your threshold, then moves their volume to healthy ones.
Placement tests
Zylar tests inbox placement per domain, at Gmail and Outlook. A placement test shows whether email from your domain is landing in the inbox or being filtered, which open rates alone can't tell you reliably.
Placement is measured at the domain level because reputation largely follows the domain. If one domain starts landing in spam, every inbox on it is affected.
Inbox health score
Every inbox has a health score from 0 to 100, updated daily. Use it to spot an inbox that's starting to struggle before it causes problems for the rest of your sending.
You can read each inbox's health score, daily limit and status through the API:
curl https://api.zylar.io/v1/inboxes \
-H "Authorization: Bearer zy_live_..."
Inbox statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
active | In rotation and sending campaign email. |
warming | On warm-up. |
resting | Health dropped. The inbox is on warm-up only and its sends have moved to healthy inboxes. |
What happens when an inbox's health drops
Zylar rests an inbox before it burns:
- The inbox's health score drops.
- Zylar switches the inbox to warm-up only. Its status becomes
resting. - The campaign sends it would have made move to your healthy inboxes.
- The inbox stays on warm-up while it rests and goes back into rotation once its health score recovers.
What auto-pause does
Auto-pause works at the domain level and is driven by placement:
- Zylar's placement tests show a domain's placement has dropped below your threshold.
- The domain auto-pauses. It stops sending campaign email.
- Its volume moves to your healthy domains, so your sequences keep running.
- The domain goes back on warm-up.
- It stays on warm-up until it recovers.
Auto-pause is on by default as part of the monitoring layer. Because volume moves to other healthy domains, auto-pause works best when you send from more than one domain. See Connect a domain.
Get alerted: the domain.paused webhook
When auto-pause triggers, Zylar emits the domain.paused event. Subscribe to it to alert your team or log the change in your own systems:
curl -X POST https://api.zylar.io/v1/webhooks \
-H "Authorization: Bearer zy_live_..." \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"url": "https://your-app.com/hooks/zylar",
"events": ["domain.paused"]
}'
The same event works in Zapier and Make, so you can route it to a Slack channel or another tool without code. See Webhooks and Integrations.
